Happiness Project

I am looking forward to beginning the second year of my happiness project.  Here are some highlights from year one:

1.  Launch blog -
With one post in 2013, my blog was officially launched.
2. Play - Go camping
I grew up camping with my family.  It was one of my favorite things to do; so when I thought about how I could incoporate a little more play into my life, camping came to mind.  With my husband and children snug in their beds, I went camping...on my back porch.

I was able to recruit two of my nieces to camp with me (their first camping trip), and my sweet husband made us a fire perfect for roasting hotdogs and marshmallows.

There is nothing better than a hot dog cooked on an open fire.  My mom and youngest daughter, would agree.

By morning, even my oldest daughter, was ready to get to get in on the action.

3.  Celebrate more - "Spooky Party"
Now that my two girls are too old for trick-or-treating, there has not been as much reason to celebrate Halloween.  I always enjoyed decorating, carving pumpkins, and choosing costumes for the big night.  In honor of my happiness project and resolution to celebrate more, we hosted a "spooky" party.  While the little ones were out trick-or-treating, my parents, grandparents, and extended family gathered for dinner and "spooky" treats.  The best part was when the knock on the door came with these sweet faces greeting us with the famous words, "Trick or Treat!"

My two girls and eight nieces with their Great-Grandmothers...and a surprise guest in the background.
